On the eve of the Feast (on the 7th of August - day of the saint's death), for ancient tradition, during the liturgy the water is  blessed in remembrance of the miracle worked for the son of King Peter III of Aragon, who was dying. He was miraculously healed by a drink of water containing small pieces of a suit of St. Albert.

Immediately after the blessing of the water is extracted from the cotton, which has remained in contact with the relic of  Saint’s skull, silver content in the head of the Statue. The statue of St. Albert, then, let each year the Sanctuary of Madonna of Trapani (where he lives year-round in the chapel dedicated to him) on board a chariot pulled by devotees to reach the first mayor of Trapani, which gives him keys, and then the Cathedral of San Lorenzo where he celebrated Mass in his honor.

Tradition is that the statue of St. Albert's return to the Shrine on the 10th of August, but due to problems for the conjunction with the feast of San Lorenzo, for some years the return is on the 9th of August, with the bell that rings to spread, between two wings a cheering crowd that welcomes the Saint with the famous and characteristic cries, "Ittamuccilla 'na santa uci! Viva Maria and Santu Libbettu! Viva!"
